The Prahlad P Chhabria Research Centre (PPCRC) has been established in the memory of Late Shri P P Chhabria, iconic businessman and the Founder Chairman of Finolex Group of Industries. His lifelong commitment towards fostering social development in India, led him to establish I2IT Trust/Society that pursues its charitable objectives in the twin fields of medicine and education. Hailing from humble origins in Karachi, Shri Chhabria’s personal Odyssey can be termed as the ‘self-made man’ - whose fortunes were made through sheer dint of hard work and personal virtues like honesty and integrity. He began his career at the age of 12 as a cleaning boy in a small cloth shop for monthly wages of Rs. 10. From such modest beginnings, Shri Chhabria, with his ingenuity and creative management practices, raised an empire - “Finolex” that is now more than Rs. 10,000 crore conglomerate. Bereft of formal education, Shri Chhabria knew the value of education, and believed that only research, innovations and inventions can thrust this country into a true super power; which is why; he often encouraged and supported pioneering ideas through the Foundation.
