Details: PostBank was born out of the restructuring of the Uganda Posts and Telecommunications under the Communications Act of 1997 to take over the operations of the former Post Office Savings Department which had been in existence since 1926.
PostBank Uganda was incorporated in February 1998 as a Limited Liability Company fully owned by the Government of Uganda and regulated by Bank of Uganda.
We are currently operating in 41 branches, with over 78 mobile vehicle service locations spread across the country, over 90 Point of Sale terminals where customers can access cash using their ATM cards and 290 ATMs across the country after joining the Interswitch.
PBU subscribes to a number of umbrella organisations like Uganda Institute of Bankers, Association of Microfinance Institutions (AMFIU); Association of Savings Banks of East Africa and the Wold Savings and Retail banks Institute.
