Play the Game is an international conference and communication initiative aiming to strengthen the ethical foundation of sport and promote democracy, transparency and freedom of expression in sport. Our international conferences are a way to reach this goal.
The objective of the conference is to act as a forum for discussion of the ‘homeless’ questions in sports and is a part of influencing the international sports agenda. Play the Game has so far hosted seven international conferences, and the latest conferences have seen around 300 journalists, researchers and sport leaders from over 40 different countries.
Since January 2011, Play the Game has been run by the Danish Institute for Sports Studies (Idan), an independent institution set up by the Danish Ministry of Culture. The task of Idan is to create overview over and insight into the field of sport nationally and internationally.
Our offices are located in Aarhus, Denmark.
