Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative (PCEC) serves more than 26,500 active services and 3,100 miles of energized line in Buchanan, Caldwell, Clay, Clinton, DeKalb, Platte, and Ray Counties, in metropolitan Kansas City’s Northland region. PCEC was established in 1938 and today is among the fastest-growing cooperatives in the state of Missouri.
Platte-Clay is associated with Touchstone Energy, a national alliance of local, member-owned electric cooperatives serving primarily rural customers (members) in 46 states. The member-owned rural electric cooperatives now represent the largest electric utility network in the U.S., serving some 75 percent of the U.S. land mass with more than 2.4 million miles of power lines delivering electricity to more than 30 million members each day.
