We’re a not-for profit global social movement of over 100 million people from 190 countries that stops around 300 million kgs of plastic polluting the world each year. Through advocacy and initiatives like our Plastic Free July challenge, we share Plastic Free solutions with people and organisations so that we can all take action to end plastic waste and enjoy a healthy world.
A finalist in the UNSDG Action Awards, Plastic Free July was recognised for it's "outstanding achievement and remarkable efforts in accelerating action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" with judges saying:-
“I am deeply impressed by the broad network of activities Plastic Free July set up in Australia and across the world, triggering sustainable behavior in so many people. Every individual decision, every little step counts – and together they form collective action that has a strong and clearly measurable direct impact. And furthermore, Plastic Free July positively influences policy decisions with the focus on significantly reducing the use of plastic in our daily lives.” - Jennifer Morgan, State Secretary and Special Envoy for International Climate Action, Federal Republic of Germany
“Plastic Free July is an initiative that truly elevates the power of the individual and spotlights the core truth that anyone can have an impact in building a better future for all. From Afghanistan to New Zealand and beyond, PFJ is a global effort that lives the very definition of the SDGs and strives to deliver results for Agenda2030 through everyone, everywhere.”
