The Pittsburgh Gaelic Athletic Association (PGAA) was formed in 2010 and acts as a representative body for the Pittsburgh Celtics Gaelic Football Club, the Pittsburgh Banshees Ladies Football Club, and the Pittsburgh Celtics Youth Football Club.
The organization's mission is to further the development of Gaelic sports in Pittsburgh. Since its inception, the PGAA has overseen three consecutive Midwest Championships and back-to-back National Championships for the Pittsburgh Celtics, and Midwest Championships (2011 & 2013) and a first ever National Championship for the Pittsburgh Banshees in 2013.
A board is elected annually which handles all aspects of club management, including budgeting, fundraising and Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) development within the city of Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania.
The board also handles team issues, such as recruitment, match scheduling, equipment purchases and team management for the Banshees and Celtics clubs.
As of March 8, 2014, the club is also recognized as a 501ciii non-profit organization.
