Pindit

Pindit is a free to use web application service. Its main purpose is to provide a location based source of news and events for local communities as well as a Worldwide audience. The idea for such a service came about in mid-2009 and was developed throughout the following years solely by Andrew Hughes. Co-founders Xavier Susai and Chris Tan were brought on board later to handle other items such as the business and marketing side of things.
