Mobile internet access is prohibitively expensive for most of the world, even though a significant part of the population now has a device in their pocket. Their access to mobile data and voice communication is inconsistent, at best. Who will be paying for their connectivity in the future? Brands are already spending billions to reach this segment of the population with their marketing dollars. Pig.gi was born at this intersection of peoples’ need for connectivity and brands’ needs to reach them.
Pig.gi, for Android, is currently available in Mexico and Colombia. Utilizing the most valuable space on mobile, the lock screen, we get brands and media partners to sponsor users’ connectivity, in exchange for placing targeted and relevant content on their phones. We believe internet can be free for the end user in emerging markets.
