Phoenix CRetro is a niche specialist reinsurance platform bringing Lloyd’s and the international catastrophe reinsurance market together with insurers and capital providers from the CEE, CIS and MENA regions. Acting both as an aggregator and, in certain circumstances as a subscription market, we utilize the classic retail-wholesale framework so as to provide both Lloyd’s Syndicates and global reinsurers with an alternative capacity or capital from areas of the world that have little previous exposure to CAT retrocession written on a Worldwide basis, despite having the necessary infrastructure in place to enter the market. Likewise for the professional reinsurers from the region we offer transparent and effective access to the catastrophic reinsurance market, to which they do not otherwise have access either due to a lack of financial strength, local sovereign rating, or small individual capacities. This is extended to unique possibilities for non-insurance investors as banks, fund managers and other institutional investors to capitalize in the area which is well developed now and almost not correlated to economical turmoil.
