Pets Are People Too Ishmeet has always had a passion for food and cooking. Right from his teens, wherein he would religiously work in the kitchens of his uncle’s restaurant after college and during holidays, to his decision to study in one of India’s premier Hotel Management colleges right here in Mumbai, food has been a driving force in his life. However, cooking food for dogs wasn’t even remotely on his radar, let alone transforming it into a full fledged business. Being an avid dog lover, adopting Harley, a two month old stray from a construction site in Andheri, sowed the seeds of Harley’s Corner, a gourmet dog food brand in Ishmeet’s mind. Being a caring pet parent, Ishmeet offered the best of the available conventional food to Harley. However, Harley’s lack of enthusiasm and interest in eating that food made Ishmeet begin using his cooking skills to prepare various dishes for Harley. Seeing Harley’s willingness and sheer pleasure in eating home-cooked meals planted the germ of an idea, which has transformed itself into the brand, Harley’s Corner! Months of research on canine nourishment, numerous discussions with vets and pet food distributors and passionate pet owners made Ishmeet realize that there was a huge gap in the market for home-cooked pet food. It was then that Ishmeet decided to launch Harley’s Corner and what started as a home experiment has today transformed into a business that has a whole Gourmet menu, which not only is different, but also healthy and nutritious. Harley’s Corner utilised the well established and proven Mumbai Dabbawalla Association to help in ensuring home cooked food reached the concerned pet parent without fail every day. Besides this, Harley’s Corner has now launched its very own packaged dog food, which is 100% Preservative and Additive Free to various parts of the country. Not wanting to contain the availability of the brand, Harley’s Corner has also ventured into the international market. However, being an avid animal lover and devoted pet parent was simply not enough. Ishmeet realized he wanted to do something for the entire animal community. Saddened and enraged towards the cruelty and apathy shown to animals, Ishmeet has initiated a drive called “Pets Are People Too” (PAPT). PAPT is a unique initiative that works towards the most basic interests of animals and advocates the assignment of moral value and empathy for animals in human beings.  Ishmeet wants to strive towards the welfare of animals by encouraging people to adopt strays through PAPT. PAPT will also serve to be India’s truly comprehensive service portal for the needs of Domestic animals in India. Whether it be basic pet care, nutritional facts, specialist advisories by leading Vets, food needs, guidance towards how to assist an animal in distress, educating people on the laws relating to animals in this country amongst other needs, PAPT strives to be the One Stop Shop related to all your pet needs.
