Pensthorpe is a unique 700 acre nature reserve, with a diverse range of inland habitats including woodland, wetland, grassland and farmland. With the river Wensum running through it, Pensthorpe is a haven for wildlife with nearly one thousand recorded species of flora and fauna. Voted the UK's third best large attraction 2022 and East of England's best large attraction in 2022.
Owners Bill & Deb Jordan believe in inspiring the next generation to protect and enjoy nature and wildlife, so conservation is at the heart of what they do.
Pensthorpe Conservation Trust, whose work is carried out on the reserve, work on a variety of nationally significant conservation projects including turtle doves, curlews, corncrakes and Eurasian cranes.
There is also a fun side to the reserve, which includes WildRootz, an outdoor adventure play area and Hootz House, an award-winning indoor play area - both inspired by nature and both designed to encourage children to enjoy the beauty of nature whilst playing in a natural environment.
