Peak State is a social enterprise that believes the resources to reach mental fitness should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford it. As such, the resources produced in partnership with BREATHE will be available to everyone in Greece.
Using their joint experiences of adversity and subsequent post-traumatic growth whilst combining their sporting backgrounds, military ethos and passion for driving systemic change to help others, Nathan Jones and David Wiseman have developed Peak State to share what they have learned in the building and maintaining of mental fitness.
Both have been recognised for their actions in combat operations overseas and both carry scars from injuries sustained in that service – Nathan’s spine has been fused after it was broken during an in-flight incident in which Nathan was personally responsible for saving over 200 military passengers on board. David still carries a bullet in his lung having been shot in the chest during a fire-fight in Afghanistan.
Sport was an incredibly important factor in both their recovery journeys. Before joining the Royal Air Force, Nathan was a professional sportsman and represented his nation at skiing, rugby and athletics. David spent two years climbing in the UK, the Alps and high-altitude mountaineering in the Himalayas. Both men came together to represent the United Kingdom at multiple Invictus Games; winning dozens of medals between them.
David and Nathan have dedicated their personal and professional lives to supporting various charitable initiatives. Work that has resulted in close interaction with institutions such as the Ministry of Defence, Kings College London and the Centre for Conflict Wound Research and has resulted in requests for sharing knowledge across various media and academic fora around the world.
Peak State has been forged in the crucible of this shared life of sport, service and recovery, in order to help everyone achieve their Peak State.
