What are we offering?
The offer is a provision of a team with specialist clinical mental health training that is integrated into the school system. The team will be able to provide confident, well formulated support and intervention around the young people who are currently not catered for in other health and education systems.
Why is there a need?
CAMHS no longer has the capacity and remit to provide mental health prevention work. This has created a deficit in expertise around a number of young people. As a result of which, there is a number of agencies providing a range of services to meet this extremely important area of healthcare. Education has adapted amazingly to cater for these needs, however there is a skill set that exists within CAMHS services that is not embedded into educational settings. This skill set is hard to replicate without the specialist training and clinical experience it requires.
