Parenting Place exists to inspire, equip and support parents in Aotearoa New Zealand for the lifetime of their parenting journey. Our vision is for all parents and caregivers to feel confident and every child more deeply loved.
We’ve been working with parents in Aotearoa for nearly 30 years, through face-to-face courses, family coaching and events as well as developing articles, resources and presenting in media to provide parents and whānau with strategies and tips to build strong family relationships.
Parenting Place supports a proactive approach to building healthy family relationships, wherever people are on their parenting journey - from pregnancy through to seeing their kids into adulthood.
As New Zealand’s largest parenting organisation, we’re passionate about walking alongside parents and their families. We recognise that every relationship grows stronger with support, encouragement and nurturing. For us, this is the heart of whanaungatanga.
Parenting Place creates content for parenting courses facilitated by community partners, including:
- Space: for you and your baby: a 20-40 week course to support parents in the first year of their child's life.
- Toolbox Baby + Toddler Years, Toolbox Primary Years and Toolbox Teenage Years: a six-week age+stage specific parenting course covering the practical, emotional and relational aspects of parent life including: love and connection, understanding yourself as a parent, understanding our children and the world they live in.
- Building Awesome Whānau: a six-to-eight week course which draws from mātauranga Māori and the latest research to support whānau in a uniquely Aotearoa context.
We also offer Family Coaching for individual family support, and have a wealth of resources on our parentingplace.nz website.
