Since its establishment in 1995, PSik has specialized in developing solutions for OEMs and VARs in the digital color printing market. PSik’s partners today come from areas like gravure, flexo and digital printing. In the past we were cooperating with Eastman Kodak regarding Approval interfacing and with HP Scitex regarding CT/LW RIP.
Recently, we focus more on the packaging market, providing systems for both gravure and flexo. PSik’s developed solutions can be found at large printing and prepress houses throughout the world.
Among our latest activities:
Gravure Packaging:
- Various methods to enhance gravure printing quality
- Developing a system for gravure cylinder inspection
Flexo:
- Involvement in 3D front-end for direct laser engraving (DLE)
- DFE (Digital Front End) for a unique system which uses inkjet for making flexo plates
- Flexo plate making using Additive manufacturing (3D printing)
- Plate Optimizer: optimizing media usage and increasing automation when preparing Flexo plates
Digital Book printing:
- During 204-2008, PSik was active in the development of an in-house Books on Demand (BOD) production system. The system produced paperback bound books by using a very compact, proprietary finishing unit for binding and cutting (www.1book.com). This activity is currently on hold.
