PRAXI Network has been established as a strategic partnership of the industrial and research communities in Greece with the main aim to support the competitiveness of the Greek SMEs and RTOs through the bridging the gap between research and market, through technology transfer and innovation support.
The mission of PRAXI Network is to make Greek enterprises and laboratories more competitive via the linkage between research and industry, the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship as well as the transnational cooperation.
PRAXI Network was formed in 1991 by the Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas (FORTH) in cooperation with SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and the partnership was reinforced four years later, when the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece (FING) joined the initiative. It is distinct administrative unit operating within FORTH – the most active research organisation of Greece and is offering its services with a national outreach through offices in the three largest cities of the country and strategic cooperations with key stakeholders.
Between 1995 and 2008, PRAXI Network was nominated by the European Commission as one of Europe’s Innovation Relay Centers (IRC) acting therefore as one of the main Greek stakeholders in the field of technological innovation and cross-border technological cooperation. In parallel and since 1999, the General Secretariat for Research & Technology in Greece appoints PRAXI Network as the National Contact Point (NCP) for the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development and currently Horizon2020, rendering it an official entity for information and advisory support for EU- funded research programmes. Since 2008 PRAXI Network provides innovation and technology transfer services, both as coordinating entity and memberof the Greek consortium of the Enterprise Europe Network.
