The company PRAKAB Pražská Kabelovna s.r.o., is a traditional Czech cable manufacturer with a history dating back to 1921 when Schwechater Kabelwerke (SKW) was taken over by Emil Kolben personally. Tradition, combined with high performance and flexibility, is a guarantee of professional and quality service. With a turnover of over EUR 165 million and an export share of 75%, the company processes 19,000 tonnes of copper and 8,800 tonnes of aluminium annually. The company's product range today is very broad and consists of common installation wires, fire-resistant and fire-retardant cables, and low-voltage power cables. It also includes control and signal cables, insulated overhead lines, as well as communication and telephone cables. PRAKAB also produces safety cables for railways or wires as semi-finished products for other applications.
