Peace-A-Luza - Our yearly Festival
Starting Sunday, September 24, 2017, Peace through P.I.E. produces the first Peace-A-Luza Festival, an immersive fun festival for all ages to explore and celebrate the cultures, foods and customs from our communities! This is a yearly festival by the people for the people. The festival brings to the community 5 main components - Food - sampling of food from different cultures, Table Art - A curated exhibit of different cultural table settings, Mindful Education - Skills and mindset training that nurtures peacemakers, Art Studio - Exploring cultural symbolism, Music and Dancing - Learn the different dances that express their cultures.
MLK Socials
Inspired by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream for justice and equality, every year throughout the month of January, the month of Dr. King's birthday, schools, faith groups, organizations and individuals, celebrate, share and learn about peace through "'official" Peace through P.I.E. Socials. The MLK Social is the crescendo to a year of school-year curriculum that incorporates peace and mindset development - Project Based learning, STEAM, (Science, Technology, Engineering ART, and Math), Mindfulness, Inclusion, Peer2Peer. MLK Socials bring all walks of life together sharing the joy of being together and building a supportive peaceful community.
