Camilla Blom, Designer and Illustrator, and Johan Månsson, Designer and Photographer, got to know each other when they were students at Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm more than 30 years ago. In 2020, they met again in Österlen and started Oysterland Studio, a creative space for free thinking where the opportunity of limitless expression has generated a genre-free and personal platform where the aim is to put heart, love and care into every detail.
The name Oysterland comes from English speaking friends’ misinterpretation of the name Österlen. Österlen was historically a poor and isolated area in the South East of Sweden, badly battered by the sea. But the beautiful light, landscape and big open skies has attracted many artists, transforming the area into a dynamic and interesting place to live and work. Oysterland Studio is situated in an old factory building in one of the small villages.
Oysterland Studio has no limits as an independent producer of art and design, but also takes on assignments and do collaborations in various fields of design/illustration/photo/film etc.
