The Osesp Foundation is a non-profit institution whose goal is to help, assist, develop and promote the culture, education and social improvement, focusing on concert music, both instrumental and vocal. Headed by Fernando Henrique Cardoso, former Head of State of Brazil (1994-2002), it was created in 2005. Qualified as a cultural organization, the Foundation benefits from the Secretary of Culture of the State of São Paulo, which supports the development of the Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo – Osesp, the Sala São Paulo, the Osesp Choir, the Osesp Childrens and Youth Choirs, the Osesp Academy, the publishing house Criadores do Brasil and the Maestro Eleazar de Carvalho Center for Musical Documentation. The Foundation has also developed music education programs for children, youth and adults.
The Foundation nurtures the development of Brazilian concert through documentation, publication, performance, recording and the distribution of national repertoire, both symphonic and chamber.
