Our district encompasses a dedicated student body of 872 individuals from grades PK-12, all united under a mission to promote academic excellence, provide strong educational choices, and support holistic development.
Orleans Jr./Sr. High School has a long history of fostering educational growth and community spirit. Our first graduating class was in 1872, marking the beginning of a legacy of learning that continues to thrive. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 12:1, our faculty ensures personalized attention and support for every student.
Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for future educational and career opportunities, offering a comprehensive college-preparatory program alongside vocational courses available through partnerships with the Bedford Career Center and the Lost River Career Co-op. We pride ourselves on providing innovative programs, dedicated staff, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Beyond academics, we support a rich culture of friendly competition. Our sports teams, known as the Orleans Bulldogs, compete in various sports within the IHSAA size classification A in the Patoka Lake Conference. The Bulldogs have a storied history of success, achieving multiple sectional championships and a regional title in 2006. Our band, the Orleans Bulldog Regiment, has also earned a distinguished reputation, competing in the Indiana ISSMA Class D and making it to the state finals multiple times.
Academic excellence extends to our extracurricular activities as well. Our academic teams have garnered numerous state championships and finalist honors in the Indiana Academic Super Bowl. We are deeply committed to building a supportive and inclusive environment. Strong partnerships with parents, local organizations, and community members enrich our students' experiences and create a safe, engaging atmosphere.
