Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Clinic Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Clinic has been started with the sincere efforts of Dr. Kabita Chatterjee. It is centre for detection of Oral Cancer. Patients suffering from different types of ulcerative conditions, white patch, red patch, swelling of any part of oral cavity (mouth) or severe excruciating pain and burning sensation of oral tissues are examined in the clinic. Cytological examinations and biopsies are done from the ulcer or growth to confirm the clinical diagnosis of the disease and also to differentiate the benign and malignant nature of the disease. Proper treatment is done after confirmation of the diagnosis. One speciality laboratory is attached to the clinic. It accommodates all modern equipments for processing of tissues & fluids only from oral and maxillofacial region. Typical histological slides like ground sections and decalcified sections of teeth are prepared and delivered to different colleges of India and Bangladesh for teaching purposes.
