Operation Rainbow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to performing free orthopedic surgery for indigent children and young adults in developing countries worldwide who do not have access to related medical procedures or equipment.
Over the past 36 years, Operation Rainbow’s volunteer surgeons and medical teams have donated more than 1 million volunteer hours in order to:
- Bring relief to more than 14,000 children and young adults suffering from congenital deformities or chronic, debilitating injuries through corrective surgeries.
- Provide pain and symptom management and physical therapy to more than 50,000 children and young adults confronting orthopedic problems or chronic injuries.
- Train hundreds of doctors and nurses in host countries in orthopedic-specific surgical techniques and post-operative care, providing the specialized knowledge they need to treat complex bone injuries and conditions in the future.
Operation Rainbow’s mission is to help indigent children and young adults in underprivileged populations of more than 13 countries in Central and South America and Haiti.
Over the past three and a half decades, Operation Rainbow has provided more than 14,000 children with an estimated $70 million in medical care for under $4.5m!
