Mary Bastien, E-RYT 500 and Rain Magyar started Open Space Yoga November of 2004 on Maunakea Street in Hawaii’s historical Chinatown. They both saw Chinatown as not only a cultural melting pot, but as a developing neighborhood filling with new art galleries and boutiques.
Open Space Yoga now has 3 beautiful locations and offer 8-14 yoga classes a day. The locations are in the most desirable areas on Oahu, Diamond Head, Chinatown and Haleiwa.
Open Space Yoga has recently open Ayurveda Hawaii. We offer life-style consultations and Ayurvedic treatments. Ayurvedahawaii.com for more info.
Open Space Yoga's mission is to create an atmosphere where each student finds their own way into yoga. We understand more and more that we can't put yoga in a box and label it. Yoga is not defined as one system or tradition but in fact has infinite ways of expression. At Open Space Yoga we value and respect the varying forms and expressions of yoga. As we grow and evolve collectively, we understand that yoga is about the individual path which is what we are all here to ultimately support.
The purpose of Yoga and Ayurveda is to unify the body, breath and mind, creating a balanced all-around development of human potential.
We have just celebrated 15 years in business!!
