Open Access Energy is South Africa’s first multilateral wheeling platform that automates the matching of generation and consumption loads, allowing energy wheelers to execute accurate wheeling transactions seamlessly. Open Access Energy is a software company whose vision is to open energy access to all. We aim to achieve this by making the sale and consumption of energy accessible to all South Africans, ensuring everyone has equal access to affordable and sustainable power solutions. Our team combines renewable energy experts and software/product experts who have worked in global technology companies for 10+ years. We currently have two software solutions which are live in the market: Amptera - A freely licensed solution that enables municipalities and utilities to access smart meters, collect and interpret the data, apply tariffs, and bill customers from one interface. Energypro - Energypro is wheeling software solution that uses direct access to smart meter data from municipalities and utilities to enable accurate multilateral wheeling transactions. We work with energy traders, IPPS, municipalities, utilities, and energy consumers to enable energy wheeling across power grids.
