Omnibus is a multi-arts theatre housed in a converted Victorian library overlooking Clapham Common, London SW4, the building is home to a 90-seat studio theatre, a café/bar and two performance and rehearsal spaces.
Our work is inspired by the legacy of the 126-year-old library building – a repository of stories and dreams and learning.
· Our intention is to take the canon of literature, put it on its feet and reimagine it for a contemporary audience through theatre, spoken word, music, dance and visual art.
· Our building and location inspire the work we create, taking the form of site-responsive, promenade and outdoor theatre.
· Omnibus is a creative hub for artists to make and test work and develop their practice. Collaboration and cross-art-form working are central to our practice to enable artists to discover new artistic vocabularies.
· We aim to build relationships with regional arts companies to whom Omnibus will act as a London host.
