Born in the 30s, the minaudière is an ornamental small case ingeniously originally thought to contain a woman’s daily accessories. Gregory Bernard and Olympia Le-Tan decided to bring it up to date by making it an essential accessory in women’s wardrobes and created the brand Olympia Le-Tan® in 2009.
Reinvented by Olympia herself until her departure in 2018 and then by the brand’s designing team, this ancient object is now a highly fashionable handbag with its hand embroidered felt book-like cover.
With the result of a long creative process, the iconic clutch calls for an elaborated fabrication method involving traditional craftsmanship where time is a guaranty of quality.
Since its first appearance in 2009, the book clutch quickly became an essential item carried by numerous celebrities.
The bags are numbered, limited edition art pieces, combining hand made
embroidery and luxury artisanal work.
The current designing team works as a curating force to adapt the most impactful visuals and titles from literature, art, film, music and culture.
