Oceanic Preservation Society (OPS) is a non-profit organization that creates film, photography, media and large scale projections to increase awareness about our oceans and the planet and inspires people to change. OPS is a team of passionate artists, activists and change agents committed to sustainability and the preservation of our oceans and the planet. Founded in 2005 by renowned photographer and avid diver Louie Psihoyos, OPS is headquartered in Nicasio, CA.
OPS's first film, The Cove, won dozens of awards around the world, including the Oscar® for Best Documentary in 2009, and inspired over a million people to action.
In Racing Extinction, OPS' second film, Academy Award® winning director Louie Psihoyos assembles a team of artists and activists that go undercover to capture never-before-seen images that reveal the threat of mass extinction and endangered species on the brink.
