In 2018, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) awarded the Oakland Corridor Partners (OCP) team the Design, Build, Finance, and Maintain (DBFM) contract to upgrade the final segment of the I-75 Modernization Project (Segment 3) in Southeast Michigan.
Pre-construction efforts including design, utility coordination, public involvement, and others began in late 2018. OCP took over interim maintenance of the corridor from MDOT in May 2019. Construction of the project began in August 2019 and will continue until fall 2023. The 25-year post-construction maintenance term will end in 2048.
