Orbitz.com is a travel fare aggregator website and metasearch engine. The company was originally developed by Alex Zoghlin, a serial entrepreneur known for founding notable businesses such as Neoglyphics Media Corp, Neo Ventures, and G2 Switchworks. In partnership with major airlines—Delta, United, Northwest, Continental, and American—Zoghlin established DUNC LLC in 2000, which later evolved into Orbitz.
Alex Zoghlin assembled a core team of 12 internet experts, codenaming the travel platform “The Big Kahuna.” This talented startup team was instrumental in Orbitz’s success, growing the company into a globally recognized brand. Orbitz quickly overtook Travelocity, becoming the second largest online travel agency (OTA) in the world.
Orbitz was acquired by Expedia Group September 2015. Expedia Group (NASDAQ: EXPE) powers travel for everyone, everywhere through our global platform.
