The Onshore Petroleum Association of South Africa (ONPASA) looks to bring together all vested parties involved in the onshore petroleum industry. We look to provide a platform for practical co-operation and act as the liaison with the Government on specific issues. We closely follow political and legislative developments that will shape the future of the oil and gas industry in South Africa. ONPASA seeks to foster strong and trusting relationships between stakeholders and the Government.
ONPASA will actively promote international best practice for health, safety and sound environmental practices as well as to promote an efficient and competitive oil and gas exploration and production industry in South Africa
ONPASA seeks to encourage investment in exploration, development and production of oil and gas in South Africa. All while promoting the need to engage in self regulation through the formulation and acceptance of codes of practice in key areas of business activity.
ONPASA will stand ready to assist in pooling resources for emergency response where and when required. We will be available to any parties at a time of crises to co-ordinate action and request joint action where necessary.
Most significantly ONPASA will initiate discussion on legislation, regulations, procedures and guidelines as they relate to environmental issues, health & safety and exploration & production.
