Established in 1957 by the Overseas Missionary Fellowship, OMF Literature is "a movement of Christians who desire to honor God by depending on the Holy Spirit to achieve excellence in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promoting spiritual growth primarily among Filipinos, living in the Philippines and abroad, through the effective and righteous management of a publishing business."
OMF Literature's mission is "to publish, import, and market books, other literary materials and related merchandise that are Christ-centered, biblically sound, and culturally relevant in proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, equipping Church leaders and drawing all, particularly the youth, to the Lord."
As a publisher, OMF Literature is home to many of the country's most respected Christian voices who write under various categories—practical Christian living, theology, relationships, family, finances, leadership, Christian ministry—all anchored in Scriptures. OMF Lit's imprint for children, Hiyas, houses a growing collection of widely-received children's picture books that impart Christian values. Many Hiyas books have won local and international awards and distinctions. OMF Lit's original publications are available both in print and digital formats through various local and international channels, including overseas channels that cater to the Filipino diaspora.
As book distributor, OMF Literature is the preferred Philippine partner of the major international Christian publishers based in the US and UK. Books from these overseas partners are sourced by OMF Lit for the Philippine market by direct importation or by licensing for local republication, and then distributed through the major bookstore chains and outlets, both general and Christian-branded.
As a direct-to-consumer bookseller, OMF Literature operates over 10 bookshops in major locations across the nation under two brands: the OMF Lit Bookshop and Passages. Its online store is www.passagesbooks.com.
