OLSPS Marine (OLSPS) has been involved in fisheries resource analysis, data collection and management solutions since its foundation in 1989 by Drs Amos Barkai and Mike Bergh. OLSPS specialises in the implementation of sophisticated quantitative and predictive analytic tools and software solutions for fisheries management and other commercial sectors. OLSPS has not only developed innovative and world-leading software solutions, but also independently developed complex stock assessment models and reviews and consults on such models internationally.
OLSPS Marine consist of two divisions, the Electronic Logbook division and the Fisheries Management division.
Our Electronic Logbook division has developed a sophisticated, affordable, multi-level software tool for the recording and reporting of ALL marine and vessel-based data. The software solutions are highly customizable ensuring they suit the needs of various fishing sectors and address client specific needs.
The core software solutions offered are the Olrac Dynamic Data Logger (OlracDDL), an advanced electronic logbook and the Olrac Dynamic Data Manager (OlracDDM), a web-based data management solution, both of which have several value added features. OLSPS has also partnered with third party software and service providers enabling them to offer additional value add services and solutions to the commercial fishing industry.
The Fisheries Management division comprises a highly skilled team of mathematicians, analysis, data specialists and fisheries experts dedicated to the development and refinement of quantitative tools for fishery science and management using a highly critical and pragmatic approach. The Fisheries Management division has consulted extensively around the world on a wide range of fisheries related projects ranging from stock and resource assessment as well as economic and socio-economic projects.
