The Noyo Center's mission is to advance ocean conservation through education, exploration and experience. The organization places the dramatic Mendocino Coast at the forefront of marine research and education with innovative scientific research, hands-on education and natural resource stewardship.
The Discovery Center in downtown Fort Bragg features the convergence of science, art, and technology with interactive exhibits, plus a gift shop and the largest killer whale skeleton in the world.
The Crow's Nest is perched on a cliff along the Coastal Trail of the Noyo Headlands and is full of natural history, a tide pool aquarium with live creatures, and a great deck for whale watching.
Additionally, the Noyo Center for Marine Science provides a variety of education opportunities for the region's youth by organizing field trips to the Discovery Center and Crow's Nest and going into the schools for special projects.
The organization's goal is built a world-class Ocean Science Center on the Noyo Headlands. The center will be the premier spot to conduct marine science research and educate visitors and students along California's North Coast, strengthen STEM educational opportunities throughout the region, and generate sustainable economic opportunities that create jobs and resiliency within the regional economy.
