Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital is a 98-bed acute-care hospital in DeKalb, Ill., with more than 150 physicians members on the voluntary medical staff representing nearly every specialty. In 2007, Kishwaukee Hospital opened its Joint Center and in 2013 a Spine Center was added. In 2015, Kishwaukee Hospital’s Breastfeeding Center opened a human milk depot to provide donor milk to at-risk infants; it is one of the first four locations of its kind in Illinois.
Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital is a 24-bed critical access hospital in Sandwich, Ill., that has served the Fox Valley community for more than 70 years. In 2014, construction of a new patient wing and renovations to remaining areas of the hospital were completed, including a new MRI suite that is home to one of the only large bore MRI in the area. Valley West earned 100 percent quality core measure scores by The Joint Commission three out of four quarters in fiscal year 2015.
