North East Safety Boats is here to provide the hire of safety/workboats with fully qualified crew. It was established as a partnership in 2010, and was the brain child of Gareth Southcott who at the time was working as a Pilot boat Coxswain. Gareth quickly realised that there was position within the maritime sector for a small professional company which could utilise robust vessels within the construction and inspection related industries.
To that end, early in 2010 North East safety boats acquired their first boat, which was quickly followed by a second. The company now boast a small fleet of five vessels which enhances the capability of the company to enable it to operate up to 20 miles off shore, and also within tidal estuaries, rivers and canals.
It was quickly realised that in order to provide a first class professional service the company would have to invest not only in equipment but also in people. Both Gareth and John firmly believe that by providing training and qualifications the employees of the company can build confidence and experience and take a pride in the quality of service they provide.
In addition to providing vessels and personnel both Gareth and John found that diversity was the key to success, so in order to enhance the ‘safety boat ‘package they will also provide a complete range of personal protective clothing and survival aids for both the off shore and inshore marine environment .One of the diverse activities is for the provision of pontoons, these modular structures can be utilised in a variety of ways within the inshore marine environment. Due to their advanced design and modular structure, they can be used as work platforms, docks, bridges and can even be supplied with their own motive power.
