Kate Scott has been a culture and lifestyle writer for two decades, and has developed award-winning content for some of Australia’s leading arts companies, including The Australian Ballet, Bangarra Dance Theatre, and Sydney Dance Company. Nine Things is her one-person content studio, based in Clovelly, Sydney.
Digital storytelling is Kate’s favoured medium. She has produced over 100 videos (including the evergreen En Pointe!, now clocking 1.7 views on YouTube); large-scale photo shoots; podcasts; and two films for Vivid Sydney, which were projected onto the southern pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. As the head of marketing at The Australian Ballet, and then Bangarra, Kate led a number of major website projects, and developed innovative content, social media and marketing strategies to deepen engagement and reach new audiences.
Kate maintains a deep affection for print and long-form journalism, particularly interviews. Published works include the 360-page coffee table book Luminous: Celebrating 50 Years of The Australian Ballet and the fashion chapter of the Melbourne Design Guide. Her music journalism has been published in Rolling Stone magazine and music press nationally.
