NNWI is an industry supported think-tank, focused on the international development of nuclear energy as a means for governments to safeguard their long term sustainable energy needs. We strongly believe that nuclear is vital to achieving binding Paris Climate Agreement objectives and tackling the challenge of climate change. Since our inception, we have been recognised in the press as a high profile nuclear industry body working across the UK and European nuclear sector.
We hope this think-tank, NNWI, will ensure that nuclear enegry remains at the forefront of debate. Assisting policymakers and the general public understand the vital need for nuclear energy in meeting our climate change objectives.
History
Founded by Tim Yeo at the end of 2014 as an interest group New Nuclear Watch Europe (NNWE), which was established to help ensure nuclear power is recognised as an important and desirable way for European governments to meet the long-term security needs of their countries. Since its inception, NNWE has been an industry leader in advocating for new build plant within the UK, Europe, and further afield.
NNWE has evolved into the New Nuclear Watch Institute to promote the debate about all aspects of nuclear policy and, we hope, strengthen the case for more investment in nuclear.
