We are one of the largest non-unitary authorities in the UK, responsible for an area of 260 sq. miles that comprises beautiful beaches, pretty villages and ancient forest land. We deliver a range of services to our 176,500 residents including affordable housing, refuse and recycling, planning and leisure. We have a reputation for strong community leadership and are committed to improving the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of the district as well as playing a leading role in the forest’s future.
