Nevada is one of only a few states without a school for the blind, so Nevada Blind Children's Foundation (NBCF) bridges the gap between a public education and the special educational needs of children who are visually impaired through:
- Educational Programs
- Extra-Curricular Activities
- Peer-to-Peer Relationship Building
- Family Support
- Community Awareness
Children with visual impairments often are excluded from recreational activities, physical fitness opportunities, and traditional summer educational enhancement programs. NBCF helps children with visual impairments reach their full potential with tutoring, Braille literacy, assistive technology, special events like Beep Baseball games and a Beepin' Egg Hunt, a week-long Discovery Day Summer Camp, and after-school fitness and arts activities.
NBCF is privately funded and offers all its service free of charge.
