Nel Art Gallery

Nel is an artist-owned and directed gallery in the heart of Cape Town. Luan Nel is the owner/director. Nel focuses on contemporary art from South Africa as well as further afield paying particular interest to painting and installation as well as ceramics and photography. Prices range from exceedingly affordable to investment level. Luan Nel has been in the business of art for thirty years as artist, curator and art writer. He participated in the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten's residency program in Amsterdam in the late 1990's, after which he did a research residency at the Dutch Institute in Rome. He returned to South Africa where he continues to make art, write on art and curate exhibitions. Nel Art Gallery is the natural evolution of these endeavours and is uniquely situated within the art landscape in Cape Town and South Africa.
