Mission Statement
Needs Beyond Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive support for cancer patients by offering financial assistance for non-medical expenses and promoting early detection through educational outreach.
Programs
Relief Program
Needs Beyond Medicine’s Relief Program creates financial assistance grants for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. These grants supplement living expenses not classified as medical expenses, covering costs such as transportation, groceries, utilities, rent, and more. By providing this support, the Relief Program offers much-needed relief for adults facing the greatest fight and period of hardship in their lives.
Educational Outreach
Through partnerships with health-focused organizations, Needs Beyond Medicine promotes and supports community outreach programs. Our goal is to raise awareness and educate the public about the symptoms of prevalent cancers. All educational seminars are free to attend, delivering essential information on early detection and providing additional resources for prevention.
Karen P. Brown Relief Golf Tournament
The Karen Poulsen Brown scholarship was established by the Needs Beyond Medicine Board of Directors to honor Karen’s dedication to her family, community, and the field of nursing. Having worked in nursing for over 20 years, Karen exhibited unwavering commitment, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. This scholarship, set at $1,000, aims to assist future nursing students who embody the same qualities. It is designed to help students offset specific college education costs.
