The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) is recognised internationally as the peak body for risk insurance intermediaries in Australia.
Since 1982 NIBA has represented the interest of the vast majority of all licensed insurance broking firms, advisors and underwriting agencies in Australia. Significantly, NIBA Principal Members handle over $10 billion in premiums annually and are responsible for almost 90% of all commercial insurance transactions in Australia.
NIBA's core aims are to represent the interests of its members and their clients to governments, regulators, media, consumer groups and communities; to set and promote quality standards for insurance broking in Australia; to promote the importance of insurance and the role of the broker in that industry to wider audiences; and to provide effective and efficient membership services, including events, seminars, networking possibilities and mentoring.
