The National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) as a specialised body of central public administration is active within the Hungarian Ministry of Public Administration and Justice.
The Institute, as a Knowledge-base of Public Administration assists the central administration in creating the scientific foundation of the innovations of public administration, furthermore helps the decision making of the government with research based information. The services provided are focused on the counseling in the fields of organization, management of the projects carried out by the local and central Public Administration. Exercising its tasks, The National Institute of Public Administration carries out the strategy, regulation and representation functions and it is responsible for the elaboration of politics, strategies and proposals for specific normative documents.
