The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that cultivates creative opportunity, peer-to-peer learning, deepened appreciation, and broader awareness of the medium’s traditions, current conditions, and future possibilities. NCECA’s conferences, exhibitions, media resources, publications, fellowship and residency opportunities, and special programs advance professional, aesthetic, critical, art historical and technical concerns related to teaching, learning and creation in ceramic art.
Since 1966, NCECA has sustained a network through which great teaching methods, art and research are shared, advanced and celebrated. This journey began with fewer than 100 members teaching in about 80 universities. Today, NCECA’s 4000-5000 members work worldwide in contexts that include private studios, community organizations, galleries, museums, publishing and research, K-12 schools, institutions of higher learning, businesses, and services to the field. Membership in and support for NCECA insure that discourse, expression, and learning in ceramic art
and education continue to thrive.
