NAMI Greater Los Angeles County (GLAC) helps families and individuals affected by mental illness build better lives through education, support, and advocacy. An alliance of six Los Angeles area NAMI organizations, we serve a highly diverse population of more than 7 million people living across more than 60 cities in Los Angeles County through:
*Education* We provide evidence-based education classes and support groups at no cost to participants in English and Spanish.
*Support* We offer local expertise, help, and hope in navigating the challenging path of mental health treatment and recovery. Groups are facilitated by trained peer volunteers.
*Advocacy* We advocate for policies and programs that improve the lives of everyone affected by mental health challenges.
Our staff and volunteers: provide professional testimony; sit on task forces, boards, and commissions; and collaborate with other advocacy organizations.
We host NAMIWalks Los Angeles County, the largest mental health march and advocacy event in Southern California.
