Nano-Optic Devices llc develops innovative optical equipment.
The key technology of NOD is Digital Planar Hologram (DPH), which allows managing and guiding beams of light with any required predesigned characteristics (phase, polarization, direction) using CMOS process. DPH inside the spectrometer consists of millions of grooves - lines ranging in width from several dozens to several hundred nanometers. Lines are fabricated at the surface of a planar waveguide by means of Electron-Beam or Nano Imprint Lithography. Light propagating in the hologram resonantly interacts with the grooves. Various positions of grooves program Digital Planar Hologram to perform various operations, like the zeros and ones encode a variety of computer programs. In NOD spectrometers-on-chip the DPH serves as a diffractive device performing a spectral decomposition of input light by focusing the different spectral components at the different places along the chip output where the linear detector array is installed.
The first device created by Nano-Optic Devices is Nano Spectrometer which demonstrates unique characteristics: unprecedented resolution, miniature size and robustness.
