For over 30 years, the Munich Refugee Council has been campaigning for the rights of refugees and migrants in Munich and beyond. We demand the protection of human rights for all people regardless of their origin and nationality. For us, this includes in particular the right to an unharmed, self-determined life even outside their own nation state. Fleeing can have many reasons and therefore we demand protection and rights for people who have had to flee.
Our political work consists of sensitising the public and politicians for the living situation of refugees, pointing out grievances and working together for an open and solidary society.
We are a point of contact for refugees if they want advice, specialist information and the placement of volunteers or if they want to become active themselves.
For full-time and voluntary workers we also offer advice on asylum and residence law, give training on current topics and inform and mediate those interested in volunteering.
