Since our inception in 1984, Muller & Muller, Ltd (M2), has been helping to shape our built environment. Founders Jay and Cindy Muller both grew up in Chicago and share a fascination with the urban environment, its architecture, and systems that allow it to operate and thrive. After meeting during their architectural studies at the University of Illinois, Jay began his career working for SOM, while Cindy joined the offices of Metz, Train & Youngren in the late 1970’s. In 1984 after having recently become parents, they took a leap of faith and opened a three-person WBE firm in the attic of their Logan Square home. The practice began by designing single family homes however before long they were awarded their first public project designing a new Metra station in 1986. From there M2 started on a journey that would grow the firm far beyond its humble beginnings.
Today, with the assistance of an enhanced leadership team, M2 has expanded to more than 45 employees with offices in Chicago and Dallas. The timeline below provides a brief overview of our contributions over the last 38-years.
