Company founder Dr. Duen G. Mou started making and selling modular precision glass mini jar fermentors in 2005 as Moubio Knowledge LLC. First appeared in US in SIMB 2012 Annual Meeting & Exhibition, Washington DC, and a Silver Corporate Member of SIMB since 2013. Business registration in Taipei was changed to Moubio Fermentor Company in 2018. Mini stirred reactor vessels and systems, direct drive or magnetic coupled, from everyday plug-n-play cultures to high throughput DOE bundles, all with mass produced precision and economy, and amendable to HT automation. Incremental kLa and mixing designs to match specific mixing zones in the correct sequence allow predictive scale up and screens to preserve culture robustness. Moubio Fermentor Co. builds 3 types of mini jar reactors to match the 3 specific mixing zones in large production vessels – the laminar stagnant, transient pumping and turbulent stochastic mixing – for predictive scale up and culture robustness through sequential HT screening. If needed, they can be further aided with in-line temperature, pH, DO, off-gas O2, CO2 sensors, mass flow meters and tubing pumps for PAT monitoring and control applications, and/or robotic automation for at-line liquid handling and analytical interface.
